[TUTORIAL] Haz tu propio TRACK-IR casero con FREETRACK

Buenas a todos, el otro día hablando con Max Fire me comentó que quería hacerse un track-ir casero, y como yo también quería hacerme uno, me puse a hacerlo y he decidido hacer este tutorial para que os sirva de guía, empezamos:

Materiales:
-Estructura, puede ser de madera o de plástico, con unas determinadas dimensiones, en mi caso la he hecho de plástico.

-3 LEDS, que pueden emitir luz visible, importante que sean rojos, o como en mi caso, infrarrojos, esto último requiere una serie de ajustes que comentaré en su momento.

-Batería, en mi caso dos pilas AA, puede también conectarse al usb.

-Un interruptor (al gusto del consumidor)

-Evidentemente, una webcam, (hay algunas que no son compatibles, aquí se pueden ver: Cámaras compatibles)

He utilizado un circuito muy simple:


Empezamos:

Yo utilicé el típico mando de jugete que tenía por ahí para hacer el soporte de los leds:







Una vez con los orificios hechos pinté unos tubos plástico hueco que servirían de estructura a los leds respetando estas dimensiones:







Se monta todo y voilá, freetrack acabado y funcionando:




Comentar que si utilizáis LEDs infrarrojos hay que quitarle el filtro a la webcam que utilicéis, en la página de Freetrack tenéis toda la información al respecto.
También es bueno ponerle un pedazo de cinta de carrete delante a la webcam para evitar reflejos.

Bueno, parece que tenemos avances bastante interesantes.

El freetrack se dejó de desarrollar, y ahora está en desarrollo Facetrack, pero como parece que no va muy bien han sacado un plugin para hacerlo compatible con los leds infrarrojos de toda la vida.

Una duda que siempre he tenido con los trackir, habrá gente que se reirá de mi. Yo entiendo que un trackir gira la vista del simu cuanto tu mueves la cabeza. Pero si cuando yo miro a la derecha, no voy a ver la pantalla. Entonces que más me da que gire a la derecha?

El Trackir lo que hace es exagerar ese ángulo. Tu giras la cabeza un poco pero en la pantalla se gira bastante (o como se configure).

Muy interesante, ya pensaba que seria mas complicado esto pero si con una webcam se puede hacer.... igual me aventuro en el tema.

Eso si, sigo prefiriendo la idea de unas gafas 3D enlazadas con el trackir

No conocía yo el de FaceTrackNoIR, lo acabo de probar y funciona decentemente, el problema es que es la primera vez que uso un software de estos y la sensibilidad es tanta, que termino mareado de tantos giros de cabeza.
